Animal Aid Foundation is a public foundation that raises money and provides funding to the spay/neuter programs of local animal charities. Our charitable registration number is 840776769RR0001.

Why does Animal Aid Foundation exist?
Animal Aid Foundation was established to address the issue of animal overpopulation and homeless pets. Animal overpopulation is caused when animals that are left un-spayed and un-neutered reproduce. The result is homeless animals being confined to cages or being euthanized simply because there are not enough room for them all. Animal overpopulation is also caused by puppy mills. Both have created a crisis in our communities. Our streets and alleys are home to hundreds of unwanted cats. And thousands of unwanted cats and dogs are sitting in shelters waiting to be adopted.

One un-spayed female cat and its offspring can produce 420,000 cats in only seven years. And in just under seven years, one un-spayed female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs. Be part of the solution. Spay and neuter your pets.

Make a donation
Caring for animals is a large financial undertaking and cash donations are always needed. Consider making a tax-deductible donation to Animal Aid Foundation. Spay or neuter your pets. Adopt your next pet from an animal rescue group or a city-run shelter
If there is no demand for pet store animals, breeders will stop over-breeding animals for financial gain.

Funding & Donations
How is Animal Aid Foundation funded?
Animal Aid does not receive government funding. It relies on volunteer contributions, public donations, and corporate support.
Who does Animal Aid Foundation give money to?
Animal Aid Foundation provides grants to registered animal charities who successfully complete The Foundation’s grants review process. The Foundation is not able to provide grants to individuals. Please see our list of grant recipients.
How can I make a tax-deductible donation?
Your can send your cheque in by mail. You can make an on-line donation with your credit card through canadahelps.org (fast, easy and 100% secure) or you can join our monthly giving program. Visit the Donate page for more information. To help keep our administrative costs as low as possible, tax receipts will only be issued for donations of $10 or more.

Lost or Found Animal
I lost my pet. Can you help me find it?
Animal Aid Foundation is strictly a fundraising organization. If you have lost your pet:
- Look for your pet in your neighbourhood. Look under woodpiles, in sheds and under decks. Most lost pets are found close to home.
- Make up a poster with a photograph and a description of your lost pet and include your contact information
- Put up posters in your neighbourhood and at local vet clinics, variety stores and anywhere else you can think of (with their permission of course)
- Call and register your lost pet with your local city-run shelter AND visit the shelter every day to see if your pet is there. City run shelters only hold found pets for a certain amount of time. Walk through the shelter to see if your pet is there. Many pets look the same to someone who doesn’t know them.

I found a hurt animal. Can you help?
Animal Aid Foundation is strictly a fundraising organization. We do not have the facilities or capacity to provide hands-on care for animals. If you have found an animal that appears hurt, contact your local veterinarian or humane society immediately.
